The records in this series consist of various printed and typewritten reports and minutes from 1860-1954. The records are reports pertaining either to the Board of Foreign Missions (BFM), or from meetings in which BFM representatives participated. The majority of the minutes are from meetings of a special joint mission committee of the Lutheran Free Church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Augustana Synod. There are minutes from a conference on orphaned mission fields, minutes from Lutheran Augustana Mission conferences, and minutes from various committees of Augustana's Board of Foreign Missions. There are two types of reports in this series. There are excerpts from synodical reports in which home and foreign mission committee, and then later mission board, reports are made. Reports for 1918-1928 for the Central Mission Board and its successor the Board of Foreign Missions are bound with the BFM reports for 1924-1929. They are in Swedish and English. Care should be in handling the annual reports. The paper is quite brittle. The other reports in this series comprise treasurer and audit reports for the BFM for 1946-1947, the 1953 BFM Annual Report, and a joint mission committee report from September 1949. There is an undated listing of missionary personnel policies and rules with an accompanying index. Several of the minutes appear to be the originals, but most are copies, as are the reports. Included with the accession form is a copy of a handwritten inventory of the contents of the box.
